DAILY DRAWING & SKETCHBOOK TOUR

I made a commitment to draw in my sketchbook (and mostly finish each drawing) every day for 100 days… I’m just past halfway now, so I made a little catch-up video to reflect on what I’d learnt so far and share some of the illustrations and drawings I’ve worked on.

HOW TO: THINK OF DRAWING IDEAS

So I made a little video talking about how I think of things to draw in my sketchbook… particularly when I have nothing specific in mind. There’s two main methods I use, and I hope they might help you if you’re ever feeling a bit… out of ideas or uninspired.

If you want to see more videos, I’m uploaded semi-consistently on my Youtube channel here.

HOW TO: OVERCOME CREATIVE BLOCK

I made a new video, with loads of talking (which was scary for a shy person like me!) and a lil’ bit of sketchbook drawing, of course.

Lately I’ve been feeling a bit tired/stressed/stupefied by the thought of creative work, so I thought I’d put together a little video of the top three exercises or commitments I make to try and overcome creative block. These are just what works for me, and everyone’s creative practice is different, but hopefully they might be of some use or help to you when you’re feeling stuck too!

WESTERN HALLOWEEN

This was the most fun theme to illustrate, and I truly could have gone on forever – really tapping into my inner teen-goth-who-grew-up-on-a-farm identity.

Anyway, these graphics are available for commercial and personal use here.

Thank you so much for your support and interest in these commercial-use illustrations suites I’ve been developing; it’s really been so much fun and a really great new creative outlet.
