Today is the last day to grab some of the new prints that were released last week!

Anyway, on this last day of print spotlights, I wanted to take you on a tour of the Butterfly Flow illustration sheet, another one created as a digital download for my Patreon subscribers, and reproduced here as a fine art or digital art print for your home.
This page features more of my favourite butterfly-winged things (including the omnipresent winged horses), but this time with the addition of some sweet fairy ladies.
This page was born out of the really beautiful late-summer season when there are butterflies positively everywhere on our farm. (Also a lot of caterpillars, and this was one of my first real attempts at drawing them!).
Anyway, the colours and recurring symbols of this piece all suggest a lush, sweet, slowing of the season; the magical time of transition as we move into the flow of the next. At least, I hope that’s what I’ve captured.

The story of Red, Mack and Blue is just beginning… a red-headed woman, a blue-roan horse and a kelpie pup, setting out to bring us encouragement, joy, gratitude and grace.
This mini-print set follows the first four frames of their story so far; I hope it brings you some light and happiness, and that I can keep on sharing their adventures with you.

Not unlike The Land tarot, these cards are something I’ve been playing with for a long, long time. Winding walks under the winter day moon, wondering which are the appropriate ideas to capture. Drawings and redrawings. Beginnings and abandonings and recoverings and restartings. Walls papered with words and cards and ways to figure out just how to do this.
So, I worked out the ideal qualities and feelings and events and skills, and mapped them out on the wall. Then I just dove in, started at the start, and drew exactly what it felt like. So, starting at A, and releasing a selection from the first seven cards I’ve created, we have Abundance, Alignment and Bravery.
There’s so much more to come with this deck, but for now… this is the sneak peek, and this is the call to whatever you might need.

Welcome to the inception of The Land!
The idea for a cowgirl/cowboy/cowfolk tarot originally came from a photo shot by Caree Prince, and some chat in the comments about how the image resembled the card, The Hermit.
I have resisted working on a tarot deck for years; simply because it is a huge undertaking to fulfil both major and minor arcana (78 cards, I think?), and also because I am not as familiar with the cards as I would like to be. I have a superficial understanding of most, but not thorough.
However, I love drawing cowboy shit and I love a little mysticism and magic, so I am tentatively embarking on the development of ‘The Land’, a cowgirl tarot. It started with Caree’s Hermit, and I included my two favourite cards from the major arcana to create a triptych. Of course, my own horse Benson features on The Star — my favourite card, my favourite pony.
The idea to restock my shop actually came from the hope that I can raise a little capital to keep me fed and watered while I work away on more cards… So, if you purchase one of these prints during the next week, please know that you’re directly supporting the creation of something that will be really special (I hope!).

Today I’m taking you on a tour of the ‘Tough & Lucky’ illustration sheet… It came to life as one of the regular Patreon rewards — every two months I create a ‘flash-sheet’ style page of illustrations, and share it as a printable artwork, and as a outline-only colouring sheet.
I really poured a lot of whimsy into this page, and also a tonne of detail! All up, this page took me about a week to complete.
It features a lot of recurring themes from my visual language — winged horses, mud crabs with rambling roses, mushrooms, cacti, naked ladies reclining in a vase of daisies… just the usual.
There’s a few new details in there – a butterfly-winged frog, and a cowgirl rose – which were a nice segue into my old love of taking traditional tattoo imagery and making it into something a little… different.
I love this print for it’s intensity and detail, it’s something you can look at for a long time. Only available for a few more days, here.

Today’s featured print is the ‘Sweet Moon’ print — a reimagining of the classic man-in-the-moon face, in a dark garden of morning glories and butterflies. This piece was originally created as the subscription postcard for my Patrons, and remains one of my favourite postcards created to date (but wait ‘til you see what I’ve come up with for May…).
The moon has long been a feature in my work, but the anthropomorphised version started to emerge around when my son was born, perhaps inspired by the storybook and fairytale images that started to seem a bit more appropriate in my world. Like eyes and hands, the moon is a symbol that fascinates and resonates strongly with most people, and I love exploring its representation because of that.

This artwork was originally created for my Patrons; for my top-tier patrons, I release a flash-style illustration page as a digital download that they can print and hang in their homes, and I also provide it as an outline-only artwork that they are welcome to colour in. The Subtropical Summer sheet was made in Dec/Jan of 20/21, and depicts a lot of the creatures and feelings that typify summer in my homelands. It features a barn owl, who I glimpsed a few times over the season, a bandy bandy snake that seemed to keep appearing to my sister and friends, a noisy cicada, big fluffy storm clouds, and of course, just a beautiful decorative western saddle for good measure.
I love making collections of illustrations that document a point in time, and that’s what this page is all about!

The Patreon-exclusive postcard print for March was the Lotus Queen…. something developed out of drawings and a dream that I’ve only shared with my family, friends and Patreon family.

A lot of time-lapse and process videos; this includes Procreate time-lapses as well as sped-up videos of me drawing in sketchbooks or in ‘analogue’. These videos reveal a fair bit about how I compose and change a drawing as I work it through to completion.
